Community star Joel McHale will guest star on Fox's
upcoming revival of their hit sci-fi series, The X-Files.
The actor will play Tad O'Malley, a conservative news
anchor, who surprisingly becomes an ally of David Duchovny's Fox Mulder.
This is the first piece of new casting for the
upcoming 6-episode series, which will see the return of not only David Duchovny as Fox Mulder but also fellow stars Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully, Mitch Pileggi as
Walter Skinner, William B. David as the Cigarette-Smoking Man, and series
creator Chris Carter.
The limited series is scheduled for a two-night
premiere event starting Sunday, January 24, 2016 just after the NFC Championship
game at 10 p.m. ET.
